Election Petition Against Municipal President: MP High Court Ruling | Siddharth Shukla

The MP High Court's Gwalior Bench resolves a long-standing drafting gap in the MP Municipalities Act, 1961, holding that limitation for an election petition against a Municipal President runs from the date of election at the Council's first meeting, not from any Gazette notification. The Court also imposed costs of Rs. 1,00,000 on a party for raising a maintainability objection it knew to be baseless.
